There are four kinds of cord. They are organic core, fiber core, asbestos core and metal core. Organic core is made the cotton twist into a rope. Organic core wire rope is soft and pliable. The storage oil in the cord will seep and lubrication of steel wire rope after the rope has been extrusion in the using process. This steel rope has bad heat resistant and flame retardant and not suitable for the environment with high temperature. Certainly it could not be under pressure. That is the same as fiber core.
Rope core of metal core is made of mild steel. This steel rope can not also resistance to high temperature, but also bear large transverse load. It can be used for high temperature or the occasion of multi winding. But it is in high price. Asbestos rope is soft and pliable. This steel rope is used for metallurgical and other environment with high temperature. It also could bear pressure.
